Description of the illustration asoag036.gif

  1. A user requests authentication to a database that is configured for Enterprise User Security.

  2. The database server authenticates the user by accessing information stored in the directory.

  3. & 4. Once authenticated, the user can access other databases, which are also configured for Enterprise User Security.

This centralized configuration enables you to modify information in one location, the directory. It lowers the cost of administration and makes the enterprise more secure because there is only one set of user information to manage and track.
