Enterprise user security supports the following authentication methods:
Passwords
Each authentication method has advantages and disadvantages. For a comparison, see the table, "Enterprise User Security Authentication: Selection Criteria," in the Oracle Database Security Guide.
Note: If you plan to use digital certificates to authenticate your enterprise users and the certificate distinguished name (DN) is different from the LDAP directory's DN, then you must publish these certificates to the directory. For information about publishing certificates to the directory, refer to the Oracle Database Security Guide.
