Oracle9iAS Unified Messaging combines the Oracle9iAS Email messaging engine and store with Oracle Internet Directory (OiD). OiD LDAP directory services provides easy, secure Web access to a wide variety of message stores, exposing them as Web services.
Unified Messaging uses a virtual mailbox approach to messaging, displaying a single mailbox containing all voice, e-mail, and fax messages through a Java middle tier.
