Oracle Transparent Gateways integrate data from non-Oracle systems with data stored in an Oracle database. They transparently access data stored in non-Oracle systems, creating the appearance that all of the data resides within a local Oracle database server.
Data requests are forwarded to the Cache Router that forwards non-Oracle system data requests to Heterogeneous Services (HS), the generic technology for accessing non-Oracle systems. Heterogeneous Services forwards the request to a transparent gateway agent running on the non-Oracle system.
