Using configurable caching rules, Oracle9iAS Web Cache can cache static, dynamic, and partial pages. Oracle9iAS Web Cache supports Edge Side Include (ESI) tags, which are HTML-like tags that enable caching and dynamic assembly of page elements, such as text and GIF images. As a result, if a cached page contains an invalidated element, the Web Cache requests only that element from the HTTP server rather than requesting the entire page.
