Enabling Policies

When you enable a policy, it is activated. However, the enabled policy remains subject to precedence rules. For example, you enable a policy that appears at the top of the table on the Policy Rules page for RA Requests. If another enabled policy, which sets the same attributes, appears later in the table, then only the later policy prevails. Policies are applied in the order in which they are displayed in the table that appears when you select an operation in the main Policy management page. See Reordering Policy Precedence

To enable policies:

  1. On the Policy page of the Configuration Management tab, select the Operation type for the policy you want to enable and click Go. A list of policies for that Operation type displays.

  2. Select the policy you want to enable by clicking the radio button adjacent to the Policy Name and click Enable. The Status for that policy changes to Enabled.

  3. Restart the Oracle Certificate Authority server for your changes to take effect. See Starting and Stopping Oracle Certificate Authority Server
