Internet Applications Oracle9i Application Server (Oracle9iAS) provides a fully integrated platform for all of your Internet applications, regardless of the language in which they were developed. Oracle HTTP Server is based on the industry-standard Apache Web server, but with additional and enhanced modules. Oracle9iAS supports the latest Java enterprise technologies and programming languages as well as existing servlet code. Oracle9iAS provides comprehensive support for JSP and servlet key features. Using EJB (Enterprise JavaBean) technology, developers can focus on implementing business logic for applications, rather than application infrastructure. Clustering allows for the creation of multiple Oracle9iAS instances that coordinate their actions, transparently providing scalable, highly available services. Developers can use the BC4J (Business Components for Java) framework to author and test reusable business logic in components that automatically integrate with databases. The Oracle XML Developer Kits contain XML component libraries and utilities for Java, JavaBeans, PL/SQL, C, and C++ for XML-enabling applications and Web sites. Oracle Forms developers can quickly deploy Forms on the Web by using Oracle9iAS Forms Services. PL/SQL developers can also quickly become Web developers by using PL/SQL Server Pages (PSPs) to generate dynamic HTML pages.
