Oracle9iAS Forms Services provide a run-time environment to display Oracle Forms applications from a Web browser, either through the Internet or your intranet. These services make it possible for Oracle Forms developers to quickly deploy Forms on the Web.

Forms applications are created in a wizard-based environment where developers can quickly lay out transactional forms and associate PL/SQL code with visual elements.

Oracle9iAS Forms Services consist of a listener and a runtime engine on the application server, and a generic Java client applet on the client tier. The Forms runtime engine runs the business logic defined in the Forms application, and provides a connection to the Oracle database. The Java applet provides the client user interface.
